Hello from New Zealand. It's been a busy car day. Sold my collectible 2004 Jaguar XJ6 around noon, and on the same site (Trade-Me) up popped a 2008 LR Freelander in Tonga Green the same time. Most comparable listings are around NZ$10K, but this one was $4.5K. 152,000 KM. clean body and interior. Called the owner - a young mum who replaced it with a CR-V to get better mileage. The car was located near the Jag buyer, so I drove down, test drove, left the Jag for collection and drove home with the LR.

It had a check engine light which gave a PO171 error on both banks. Funny, it was the same code my Jag had when I bought it in 2020. MAF, O2 sensor or vacuum leak (Jag was MAF and unplugged hose). So she dropped the price to $3,800.

It was a Japanese Domestic Model that entered NZ in 2012, and it does not have a tow bar. Interior looks exceptionally clean, and the headliner has buttons where it looks like someone did a very interesting repair.

The car failed its WOF inspection (like a MOT) on heavy steering which seems to be common. I'll start with the filter, but am prepared to replace the pump, rack or whatever.

The rear boot opening is broken. She backed into something, so her dad opens it using the wind screen wiper blade. Not sure what is needed there.

Then I have one of the world's best welders who will make me a custom full length aluminium roof rack as this will become a farm truck collecting timber from the building yard. I'm going to copy the design off my 1982 Mercedes G Wagon which was their expedition model rack when the 4x4 was new. You can carry an elephant on it.

If there any suggestions of what should be looked at with 150,000 km just due to age and distance, I appreciate the advice. First will be fluids.

Hello from Aberdeenshire we currently own 3 FL2's a 08 GS, 09 GS and recently purchased a 2013 GS all have needed a bit of work but I have managed to pick them up quite cheap so I have landed lucky, I know my way around older Landys having owned various series Land Rovers and a couple of Disco's and a FL1 but with the FL2s everyday is a school day when I am working on them that's why I am on here as I have a few things I will need advice on.

Welcome, but don't change your FL2 too much as you have bought the best spec for a quick, comfy Journey. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Just bought a Freelander 2
I've had a FL1 and a D2 in the past, but joined the corporate world a while ago and have had 5 years of VW and BMW EVs....

Things have changed and I needed a cheap car, this one had just come into a dealer as a part ex
Bit tatty but looks reasonably well looked after, some service including a new clutch and flywheel, more than I give for the car

Got reduced engine performance fault on the way home, only scan tool I have that would connect is Torque Pro so not great, all fuel related faults so I recorded max fuel flow and rail pressure

Quick Google and I decided to change the fuel filter, did that and it pulls like a train, no faults and a significant bump in fuel flow and rail pressure, I call that job done

No real plans, android head unit on its way, no nav on this one but at 18 years old that isn't an issue, I think the clock spring has failed as I have airbag light and no cruise (both ok on test drive)

I will also give the Haldex a service and chuck a timing belt on shortly

Current theory is the previous owner parked it when the fault happened, just after the new clutch and chopped it in while it still has a bit of test, it wasn't messed with until I touched it

The insulation on the engine cover had turned to dust but was all there
