Hey bought my freelander 2 about a year ago, had a year of ups and downs, lurking on here on and off.
Can’t grumble too much as it’s got me to work for the past year. Wouldn’t start around Christmas last year, found it was the crankshaft position sensor which was a cheap diy fix thank goodness!
Keep getting random limp mode which is a bit of a pain, but doesn’t seem to happen when I’m popping about on short journeys, so I’ll be picking you guys brains for sure!
My first Land Rover after owning a Pajero and sorento in the past amongst others, and enjoying it!

Finally signed up after two years of reading posts from the outside. The community has been exceptionally helpful since I bought my Freelander. In the two years I’ve owned it I’ve had to replace the rear dif, front dif, wheel bearings, rear suspension, hand brake set up, get the haldex serviced, and some considerable welding! All of which would have been much more tricky to sort if it wasn’t for the fault diagnosis threads on this site.

I have had numerous incidents where the battery drained. The auto electricians cannot trace the problem. Initially they claimed it was a tracking device left in the car by the previous owner. However within 2 days of standing the battery drained and the auto electrician had to jump start and retest. The car was then with them for 10 days without success, so continues the cycle: charge - drain within 2 days of not driving -charge

Hi all, just purchased a Freelander 2 HSE. Great car, a couple of niggles I need to sort out though. I think I got a good deal (£2400) for 169k miles, MOT history is relatively clear, no sub frame or suspension issues, biggest issue (that still remains) is the horn not working.
