I've been a member for a while now (no.21) but haven't said hello because I see a lot of names I recognise from D3.co.uk and RRSport.co.uk, there are also a few names I recalled from my Freelander Club and Freelanderowners.com days. Robin, Harvey, Northscot17 and a few other intrepid Freelander owners not frightened to take theirs offroad and into the mucky stuff. Welcome to you all.

Another new subscriber who recognises a lot of names from elsewhere.

Don't have a Freelander at the moment -- our V6 went back to the lease company at the end of March. Not going to make a decision about replacing it until Oct/Nov at which point I think a very difficult decision will have to be made.

Freelander2, second-hand L322 RR and second-hand TD4 -- who knows what I'll end up with.. Shocked Decisions decisions..... Razz Bill

Hi

liked your gallery with the LR2 info and thought I'd register. We have a Jet Black 2001 TD4 over here in Switzerland. Just clocked up 120,000km and we are itching to replace it with either the LR2 or a Cayenne V6. Cool
We had a 1.8 petrol version prior to our TD4, but much prefer the TD4. Our hippo is the real bad weather and winter 'workhorse' for us and is used 90% for our almost daily 160km motorway commute. Twisted Evil The remaining 10% is for the ski season trips into the mountains. Our other car is a BMW M-Roadster - the original one - not the Z4 - which is 90% of the time wrapped under blankets in the warm, cozy garage whilst Sally the Hippo freezes on the drive Embarassed
Anyhow, less about me, hi to all and keep the LR2 info coming please. Has anyone got some pricing info??
Alex

alex,

I would imagine the choise between an LR2 and the pepper pig is easy... specially if you need a work horse... LR2 wins hands down.

welcome

I wish it was that easy. I'm firmly under the Cayenne 'hypnotic spell' currently - got it bad as I've been holding off for the past couple of years Confused Need to feed the LR2 curiosity asap or it could be too late - help! Life savings are burning a hole in the pocket. Test drove the Cayenne V6 two weeks ago, only dislike was the plasticy bits of interior. Unbelievable but true, our insurance quote for a new Cayenne V6 reduces slightly compared to our current almost five year old TD4!!
Where are you in Shropshire Simon? Wife and I lived and grew up in Telford..

not far from Ludlow... near the Sheep

You need to get inside Freelander 2 - Its very good. No where near as large or brutally ugly as the German machine. But waaay better off road and I suspect in the snow too.

Porsche will get stuck - guaranteed.

My old boss had one... my D3 goes places he can only dream of.

The New Guy

Hello All,

I have been lurking in the background for a while and so thought i should introduce myself. I think i am the first person here from Canada and i just did the exchange rate calculation based on the news yesterday. A little painful for the HSE but it looks like it will be worth the wait!

Cheers!
