I believe Viezu bought out ChippedUK, who by all accounts had terrible customer service and sold a ST3 remapped, which also got good mpg on the car

I think the price on Viezu are based on a one off remap and not a unit which can switch between the remap and the standard map Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Having contact them, have they clariffied if this price is for a sing tune or for the 2 or 3-mode switch? Have they offered any proof that it works or have they just said it does.
I will also contact them and thats why I want as many info as possible.

PS: it should be better to do it in summer in the UK. just in case something goes wrong you don't get stuck in the rain or snow. Here in Cyprus it barely rains. If I get the right comments from them or feedback from someone might do it earlier.. Keep thinking! Imagine if you stop.

Ours was mapped by a company called carbon chip tuning in Manchester after a recommendation from a colleague, I was impressed by them as they were writing their own software and had a dyno etc.

The fuel economy increased and it drove much better than standard, the same crew have done our D3 and its transformed it. Ex-2009 Freelander 2 HSE Auto owner

In my opinion a remap that is worth it is a remap that will keep the torque as constant/flat as possible over an as wide as possible RPM range. For example, 350 Nm from 1500 to 3500 RPM.
The question is: Do you really need it? Will you make so much economy?
Suppose that somewhere in the future LR come up with a service action that will need to update the engine firmware. Will you loose the tune or the company will take into account the new firmware and make another remap for you?

The 400£ price is for the OBD unit with 3 programs. That is your oem prog and 2 tunes.

Trying to get some references from Veizu on FL2 tunes. See what we get. FL2, TD4 HSE

Anyone know if re-mapping invalidates the Land Rover Warranty at all ?

I would say it would only invalidate the parts of the vehicle associated with the remap (engine, turbo etc).

i.e if your boot lock went, I'm sure they would fix it under warranty.

Just got a mail from Veizu saying that if your fw is updated on the service they would reprogram your new oem fw to a new tune free of charge.

Most companies that offer remaps also offer to reinstall the software should it be wiped during an update by the dealer. Not all updates by the dealer would rewrite this area of the memory, but even so that's where a remap that a remap you can upload and switch between standard and remapped yourself comes into its own...because it's convenient.

Do you really need it? If you're talking in terms of economy probably not, but the extra punch a remap offers on any FI engine is definitely worth it IMO....but I like power!

As for the warranty, expect a struggle with your dealer/LR if something happens with your transmission, drive shafts, diff, engine or turbo if they discover you have it on your car. Again this is where a system that allows you to upload the performance map or the standard map is a blessing. A dealer cannot see, using their diagnostic tool, that you have a remap on your car however when they drive it they'd be able to tell.
In most case only LR or their supplier of the ECU would be able to see the code and that it has been changed, and whilst in theory they'd have to prove that it caused a specific failure it does complicate things. Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

If you are looking for an "extra punch", just switch the dial to sand mode and see what it does, before spending bucks to remapping IMO.

Using the savings calculator on the Viezu site suggests that it would take me about 35,000 miles to 'save' the cost of the remap. So probably about £1000 over a 100,000 mile lifetime of the car. Not sure that adds up to a worthwhile deal.

it lets the traction deliver more power to the wheels as it allows the wheels to spin , and alters the gear change points if you have an Auto.

it doesnt make a whole lot of difference but there is a difference At work
