It’s really a rebadged Ford. Land Rover had very little to do with designing the Freelander 2.

Sd4, best I've ever seen is 45 on the screen, driven like Miss Daisy. 42 on a long motorway run would be normal. 33 - 35 is the usual figure. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I never trust the cars computed figures. Mine are individual fills and then combined to give real long term figures. Filling the tank to the brim on modern cars isn’t a good idea. The often have vapour traps that can become saturated. Better to find a pump that works for your car and go back to it regularly. |

We have every petrol receipt for our car with penciled trip meter data, & pencil in the front as they fade.

Fuel consumption will be less in areas where there is a higher percentage of bio fuel, as it has less calorific value, chose your fuel carefully. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

My SD4 has always delivered about 34 around town and 39/40 on longer runs, but drops quite a bit on motorway runs if I push 80 . FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey |

The VW group TDIs are great for economy and put our thirsty Freelander 2's to shame. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

True My previous Skoda, an Octavia 1.6TDi estate, once gave me over 78MPG on a run down the M1 to East Midlands Airport (circa 60MPH, & low traffic densities) |

If you are looking for low fuel consumption and own a Land Rover you’ve got the wrong car! Though SWMBO’s run around, a Fiesta ST3, weighs less than half the weight of a Freelander 2 and can’t match it. Probably the wrong car as well but both are much more enjoyable to drive than a low powered econocar. |
