50 MPG !!!!!

Just completed a 200 mile round trip and driving at 60 MPH on A roads and a bit of motorway My 2013 Dynamic has returned 50.2 MPG now that's impressive for a vehicle that weighs about 2 ton and constantly has A/C on. Its gotta be the best thing LR ever made in my opinion Thumbs Up

It’s really a rebadged Ford. Land Rover had very little to do with designing the Freelander 2.
I’ve seen 49 mpg regularly on long runs, but running average is 33.7 mpg over 3996 days, 10507 litres, cost £13,617.

Sd4, best I've ever seen is 45 on the screen, driven like Miss Daisy. 42 on a long motorway run would be normal. 33 - 35 is the usual figure. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I get the same as the Bobs……average 33-35 mpg…..
I wouldn’t really trust the screen figure for accuracy……
If you’re doing a “Mobil Economy Run “ test you have to brim thé tank….reset trip & bring to brim again…after the run………
that would be accurate…… FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current

I never trust the cars computed figures. Mine are individual fills and then combined to give real long term figures. Filling the tank to the brim on modern cars isn’t a good idea. The often have vapour traps that can become saturated. Better to find a pump that works for your car and go back to it regularly.

We have every petrol receipt for our car with penciled trip meter data, & pencil in the front as they fade.

One of our individual trips across the Nullarbor with the car at full payload including stuff on the roof. Tailwind 7.8L/100km, headwind 12L/100km.

Individual trips don't count. You really need to do tank to tank, & then at least 3 tank fulls to average.

We did manage to get from Norseman Western Australia to Penong South Australia 1,128 km plus some small side trips. With the additional 50 litres of petrol we carried.

Sign leaving Norseman heading 'over east' as the Sand-gropers say (Western Australians)!

Fuel consumption will be less in areas where there is a higher percentage of bio fuel, as it has less calorific value, chose your fuel carefully. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
