Australia 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey
New to the Freelander

Hi all,
Had the 2010 Freelander about 6 months now. Very happy with it’s performance and fuel economy. Last Land Rover I had was About 14 years ago, an old v8 Disco. One thirsty beast that one. Anyway just saying G’day.

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Sumatra Black
Hello all

Hi

Just picked up a 2007 Freelander HSE Td4 with 94500 miles on the clock. Already planning some mods although so far I've limited myself to fitting a Pure Highway 400 to give myself DAB and Bluetooth Music.

Hello all

Carl

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Barolo Black

Hi all, just joined. I have had a freelander 1 for the last 10 years. Just swapped it for a Freelander 2, Td4e 2010 HSE. High miles @153k, so a big service to do. Looking on the site for hints, tricks and help.
Loving the car already. Bought in Yorkshire, drove 700 miles non stop except for fuel and chunnel to my home in central France the next day. 13 hours behind the wheel, the car never missed a beat. What a difference from the freelander 1 I drove to the UK in!
The car has all the toys......and everything seems to work! My only complaint is that the CD player randomly pauses, and the only way I can get it going again is to turn the car off and on again. I am sure I will figure it out eventually!
Cheers Richard

Hi, I'm Roy, I don't own a Freelander (yet) but am looking to move on from my 225k Miles Skoda Octavia to a FL2 very soon. I previously 93-96 owned a Isuzu Trooper 3.1TD Van which I regret selling and want to get back into a 4x4.

I also own a Caterham 7 which I built from a kit 20 years ago, so am OK with a spanner, I also used to fix aircraft in the RAF in my younger days so can use an Avo as well as a spanner Very Happy

Roy.

Freelander 2 Terrain response failure message

Morning. My name is Louis and I am an owner of 2009 Freelander 2 model. I have a terrain response failure message on the display with yellow triangle and special programs off. Sometimes I get a clicking, grinding noise coming from the front when driving. Any guidance to resolve this will be appreciated.

Hi all, back in a Landy after over 30 years.
Have just bought a 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE,
What a difference from my old Series 2A.
I just hope it will be as reliable as our old Jeep Grand Cherokee we had for the last 15yrs .
Just replacing the bonnet gas struts and one of the front fogs, Next job is to sort out key fob, one doesn't open door but starts engine, dont know if its faulty or just been sitting away from vehicle and needs a full charge
It's high mileage (198k), but with complete service history, and had a new (dealership) engine fitted at 100k and second hand transmission last year from an 86k donor, so hopefully got some life left in her. Happy days Very Happy

Yeah thanks, I knew that, that's why I'm thinking the second fob may have been the spare and just needs to be used in the vehicle to recharge it, dont know how long that takes, so taking both fobs out with me at the moment and putting the flat one in the slot whilst driving. Otherwise it's getting a replacement, I've seen links on here where someone rebuilds them.

Australia 2013 Freelander 2 2.0T SE Auto Fuji White

Hi there everyone,
Second time owner of a FL2 here in Australia.
Bought my first off the showroom floor in 2014. Loved it for over 5 years. Made the mistake of driving it across Australia to Western Australia and being convinced to get something Japanese to blend in with the WA people. Bounced from Pajero, to Prado, to FJ to Fortuner in the space of a few years. Nothing quite like the freelander for drivability or comfort.
A 2013 model in the same colour as my old one popped up for sale a few days ago and I snagged it without a second thought.
Will no doubt have many questions as my previous was a Td4 and this ones a si4, so am not convinced on this engine just yet, but happy to be back in a freelander 2 - in my opinion, the perfect blend of daily drivable size, comfort and ability.

Hooked on 4x4's

Hi Folks,

Just joined. My last vehicle was a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8, lovely motor drank like a fish Laughing , finally expensively failed it's MOT so had to go.

I'm now looking for a Freelander 2 as a friend who worked for JLR said they were probably the best model they ever produced (probably the Ford influence). So I'm now looking for a good one to buy. The only problem I'm having is that all the ones I like seem to go really quickly.
