Driving it for a couple of weeks and loving it mostly, had a fly go up the front headlight and die no idea how I'm gonna get it out

Still getting used to automatic transmission, only ever drove manuals before - on turning I find there's a lag between boost, feels like I'm limping a bit - not sure if it's a safety feature on automatics or there's a mechanical issue. It hasn't bothered me much.

On the other hand I'm really surprised at how quick it is have to watch myself to avoid speeding.

Still working out the surround sound there's 3 different options all sounding slightly different

Welcome.
they're are great motors to drive especially the SD4 Auto,
with the lag it's the torque converter picking up,
you'll probable not notice it after a few mile of adaptive driving,
Enjoy. Thumbs Up

New member to Freel2.com saying Hi!!

Hi all.

Just signed up as a member of this forum.

I'm no stranger to owning LRs, having had loads (mostly
Freelander 1s), I'm also no stranger to LR forums, being on the D3 forum (not posted since the D3 went), I'm also active on an other less specific LR forum. I currently have a FL1, but it's beginning to show its age, and I fancied something a bit newer.

I've just bought (won an Ebay auction) a red 58 plate FL2 SE in what looks like really nice condition, but has an engine misfire. I pick it up this Friday, so hopefully it'll make the 100 mile drive home. Wish me luck and I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me over the coming, weeks, months, and years.

Cheers all.

-209 service basically means that it is 209 days overdue a service although it may have been serviced before then and not had the service indicator reset. If it has not been serviced in a long while then I would be looking at changing the fuel filter as a starting point for the possible breakdown/non starting. Only fit a genuine Landrover filter or a quality make like Bosch or Mahle. Use the search feature for details on changing/bleeding the filter. If that does not work then you would really need to get a code reader to red the fault codes that are stored to help you diagnose what the problem with the car is! Good luck! Thumbs Up

Hi all, After owning :- series 2 Landrover ex Raf, twin petrol tanks that were really needed
series 3 " 1974. - a revelation after the series 2
1984 petrol 90 - brilliant
1989 turbo diesel 110 -GREY - new. (that we did 82,000miles in 20months)
1991 200tdi 90- new. red. couldn't get enough heat out of heater to keep ice off the window
1992 300tdi 90 -new. red. The best one we had.
? 90 pickup- got wrong fueled with very near full tank of petrol . Didn't make any difference, just kept going. Long list of prospective purchasers when we sold it.
94 110 pickup - put a hard top on it and kept for years and years.
? 110 hard top - kept snapping belts for whatever reason so morphed into a second hand
Disco 300tdi - red- brilliant, did miles and miles, didn't rot, didn't fall to bits.
Disco TD5 -red- lovely vehicle spoiled when a new council transit turned right, right in front of me. "It sorted the transit out though, left its floor like a galaxy ripple!
Ranger Wildtrack - goldy orange - new- kept 8 years and one gearbox.
Disco TD5 - second hand - kept until it was about to fall down onto the wheels. Pity, it was a great vehicle with no problems apart from front wheel bearings and rusty chassis.
Disco 3 -second hand 57 reg. Now we had stepped up a lot of levels , superb well kept vehicle had 3 years and was sad to see it go, but it's age and my age combined to make it common sense to move on.
Freelander 2 SD4 XS- second hand 13 reg. Firenze red with lots of extras above it's station. A very well looked after vehicle bought from Duckworth. Looks , drives and feels like brand new.

Hi All,
I have had a FL2 for a few years now 07 SE TD4- had a bit of bother and still trying to sort a few things out. I Thought I would give this forum a go as the one i am on is great, however the expertise seems to lie more with the FL1 and as my questions get more detailed the answers are less and less.
I aim to contribute where i can with actual hands on experience.

Stewart

Hello.
Been lurking for a few weeks now after picking up our facelift Dynamic SD4 as a replacement for our full fat 2002 Range Rover V8 petrol LPG conversion.

Given it a full service (all the filters), new cross climates and this week a Witter row bar for the bike rack. So far so good.

Best,
Andy

Hello all!

Sort of newbie here - new to this forum anyhow.

Used to have a Freelander 1 that I wrote off a few years ago. Had a couple of Japanese 4x4's in the interim but tomorrow collect a MY12 SD4 HSE.

Have been lurking here for a couple of weeks and already picked up a few good tips.

Happy to be here!

J.
