My father has Just bought a one owner full LR service history Freelander 2 2.2 manual XS ( his fist modern electronically controlled Landrover )

As it is 10 years old (07) it will be getting all new rear suspension, timing belt, fluids & filters, front wish bones, and some anti-corrosion treatment. and a rebuilt rear diff.

Hi guys not new to LR ownership had a few models but after just buying my son a freelander 2 SE 2007 with great spec full leather, armrests and xonen headlights its a manual but still liked the drive had it two weeks then gave it to him LOL.
So thought i would get myself a Freelander 2 HSE Auto same colour as his collect it any day next week but never checked what head lights are in it anyone tell me if they will be xenons thanks in advance

I am sure that xenon lights are only standard on the 'HSE LUX' and 'Metropolis' models of the FL2. (they are basically the same specification) FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 85k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 12th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

i think up until 2013/2014 when Xenons were standard on HSE LUX/Metropolis models every model came with Halogen as standard out the factory.
Xenons would have been specced by the 1st owner from new, or retro fitted (probably by someone on here )

Have just joined and was hoping someone may have the solution to my problem with my freelander2.

The central locking works fine but both key fobs, wont work. tried charging the keys in the ignition but still nothing.

Any help or ideas would be great.

may need the batteries changing as its a 2007 model. Think there was someone in the for/sale wanted section doing key refurbs for a decent price

LR say the earlier keys are sealed units and if they die then you need to buy new ones at a couple of hundred quid each. But the seals can be opened and batteries changed if your careful.

Yeah i have looked online now and there are a couple of people that can repalce and battery and refurb the case for approx £30.00. That seems quite good and their feedback is good too.

Hello all - just got a 2007 Freelander 2 in very nice condition. Unfortunately, it won't start properly. Guess I'll be looking for some assistance in the future. Its nice to be a LandRover owner again (used to have a County 110 V8 with all the right bits on which got to some interesting and normally inaccessible places and even helped to come 2nd in a Warn Challenge) All quite a long time ago now...... But Hi All anyway!
