Yes, I understand millimetre accuracy GPS (or equivalent) from satellite, but surely mobile ‘phone location is still based on triangulation from 4G or 3G masts? There are still “not spots” for 3G near me, and I was assuming that phone location services were poor here because of the limited triangulation available?

A single mobile phone mast is enough to track you.

It will know which direction you are going and how far away you are from the mast.

Well here we go, a ship full of Covid-19 coming into Sydney Harbour yesterday for refueling & failed social distancing on the beach!

Boxbrownie: Most ICUs are setting up small dedicated teams just for contacting relatives by phone and giving regular updates. The clinical teams simply dont have the time or staff numbers to do that without impacting upon the care they are giving. Jules

Only the crew are on-board. Some of the ships are refusing to leave Australian waters. So there is a standoff, but they need food & medicine for the crew. The really sick crew are being helicoptered off the ships. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

It's not over the curve. It may have flattened a bit but I think there is a lot we are not being told. This is going to go on for a very long time. Bunker down! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I can't see the UK coming out of lock down until May at the earliest.

In hospitals, I agree.

My mother is in a private home, the medical staff are great. My family and the staff/management have a very good relationship.
They allow my family to phone call, videophone and drop letters/newspapers in to the home, whenever. As a family after each call we call other members of the family and discuss. We call Tues/Thurs/ weekends, the staff are very happy with that and are always pleased to oblige.
I have worked in Video transfer for most of my career, and installed videohones for my family and, my then, wife's family way back in the mid 90's. I worked away from home a lot then and regularly held video calls to my own family and even helped with my children's homework.
I lived in a fully automated home, which I built in the late 80's, controlling curtains, light and heating by phone then. I built the first, what is now, called Hive for British Gas, in 1989.

Too far ahead of it's (and my) time sadly.

All that automation must be a bit of a bummer these days when one looks forward to making a decision on when to turn on the heating, and how to re-arrange the curtains. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

"admits airport officials only spotted a THIRD of passengers returning to the UK with coronavirus"

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8...virus.html

We came back from Oz via Dubai 13 days ago

In Dubai we were screened with a thermal imaging camera and there was a team dressed in PPE standing ready to take passengers aside.

In Birmingham Airport - nothing , we just walked straight through. Jules

You were screened in Dubai, so no need to screen at Birmingham as well.

They have started building a morgue at BHX, but not sure exactly where yet.

Getting ready to watch the Queen's Address at 8 o'clock.

Not sure why, as BBC reporter Nicholas Witchell gave a 'spolier' last night and this early evening added more quotes ! He may have well have read the address himself !!!

The BBC have been heavily criticized for they 'News Gathering' and 'News Reporting' of the virus by the public. So much so the BBC have shut down their column "Have Your Say". I feel much coverage has been procrastination. Also they come over as the interface between government and public. How many stupid questions can they ask ?? during Hancock's Half Hour. They should stick to their job of informative coverage and not their own opinion. Else they may as well be just another Social Media site.
