Hello again

Joined the forum in 2021 when I bought my first FL2 but life got in the way and we parted company but for no bad reasons. So after a couple of years, a Suzuki SX4 Allgrip, an Evoque and a VW Golf I'm on the hunt again for an FL2 to tow my newly acquired caravan. I very much intend keeping this one for a much longer time. LR2 SD4 GS

Well I'm not a new member - I'm actually an old one who's just sold his 64 plate Metropolis after 3 years trouble free motoring.
I've given up on Land Rovers now - I've had four Freelander 2's in the past 13 years - mostly trouble free motoring - certainly no major breakdowns (or minor ones actually).
Seeing as I'm a 20,000 plus miles a year driver it's got to be an expensive pastime running a freelander week in week out.
Add to that the eye watering insurance costs and rising tax cost and it's quickly becoming daft.
I've replaced it with a 2017 Skoda Yeti 2.0 diesel 4x4 - it's euro 6 which is a bonus.
I will look forward to spending less on fuel every month at least.

Just bought a 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS. Hoping to get a lot of advice and guidance from this forum with regard to keeping it on the road and tackling any corrosion issues for some years to come.

Welcome to the forum.

I have a 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 GS and so far there is no significant corrosion, so hopfully yours won't have any for years to come. keep it serviced regularly and do all the checks such as oil and fluid levels and tyre pressures and you shouldn't have too many problems.

As is the usual when buying a car of this type you join the right forum! Familiar with the group as was on the disco3 site a few years back when I had an HSE. Just picked up a 2010 HSE SD4 in Firenze red. It was time to come back to LR after an Audi S6 Avant, VW Golf GTi 180, an MG ZT-T and an Audi A6 Avant. I am a sucker for punishment! At least I have a good all rounder now and something to pull my track car around with when it might get finished!
