While it could be said of the Freelander 1 its definitely a stretch to think of the average Freelander 2 owner as being youthful ! Whistle

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Aintree Green

Most of the D2 boot space is taken up by a dog crate so like you said, we will just have learn to live with the smaller boot space. A small price to pay for a vehicle that is 12 years newer. The list of issues on the D2 is growing quicker than I can fix them! The freelander will be used for occasional pony towing. I’m not sure if it has a 2 ton limit or a 2.5 ton limit from what I have read but this either will be sufficient.

Bonjour et bonne année. Bienvenue sur ce forum. C'est sympa de savoir qu'il y a aussi des amateurs de Land Rover 2 en France.

France

Hello,
I live near Paris.
Owner of a F2 since 2007.
I had to change the gearbox selector (automatic gearbox) and the rear transmission gear and several generations of tyres...
Apart that, it's a very very pleasant car including to tow a horse van.
The best car I have had ever. Bravo to the LR engineers !

But to start on time by negative temperatures, you have better to like suspense ! Or have a B plan !
And you know why this car is a success ? There are as much female owners as male owners !

Seriously, I try to find the way to dismantle the front body part in order to repair the front frog light after a little shock.
Where can I find how to proceed ?
Thanks

Hi All.
Introducing myself as a new member.
My name's Shaun, living on a mountainside farm in S W Ireland. Got my FL2 about 2 weeks ago, a 09 model basic td4, commercial version. So no seats, anchorages, working windows or anything in the back. Rear load floor is lowered by a few inches (which means a full size spare is too deep to fit in !) and the platform extended out to cover where the seats and footwellshould be.
This is our second freelander, previously had a FL1 1800 petrol , super comfortable, reliable but heavy on fuel - didn't stop us doing over 220000km in it though, til we sold it on.
Ive been Land Rover ever since started driving, having had 3x series 3's, a series 2a ,the holy grail - a 101 forward control (eye wateringly heavy on fuel) ,for those who don't know their rover heritage look it up, and still currently have my lwb defender td5 which will be sold soon . Now I'm into my mid 50s I definitely need the mobile armchair comfort of the freelander.

I'm sure you'll hear from me again soon
Regards
Shaun

Welcome Shaun, it's nice to have a few youngsters on here to keep us older members from rambling on Razz

Definitely more comfortable than the series kit, more spacious than the FL1, and less rust prone than the Defender. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Welcome! Could be wrong but don't think the FL2 actually came in Epsom Green? Tonga Green at launch, then Galway Green and briefly Kosrae Green were offered circa 2009-10, and Aintree Green for the later facelift models.
