I actually use the boot outlet to charge

I don't have a boot socket on mine though I have searched the forum and know one can be fitted. I like that you have changed yours for an Anderson plug.

Look at this problem another way, is it the socket that is at fault ?

I was thinking of changing the socket when I get home anyway just to rule it out but I have a usb phone charger that works perf ...

That's not something I have come across but as the switch is all built together with the number plate lights and the boot switch I would be inclined to agree with Clive. Let us know how you get on.

There isn't a part number as such. Land Rover will charge you for the full airbox. I had the same trouble but I found a replacement in my box of screws.

Disconnecting the battery got rid of the message on the dash but as soon as I pressed the boot release button nothing happened except the message returned on the dash.

I shall look for boot strap ...
