There is an article about a price war in China because of over supply of EV's which may overflow to the UK and probably the European market ( the MOL only seems to think it only applies to the UK) it suggests many of these manufacturers are less than 4 years old and the price war may cause some of these manufactures to fail.
I suspect that if the manufacture fails then you are left with a car that has no warranty and worse still unable to be fixed or upgraded as software upgrades seems to be the repair method for EV's. Most European manufacturers are importing Chinese cars with modified dresses to disguise their origins so I assume these could be exempt from that problem, VW Group and Steliantis who produce about 80% of our cars are unlikely to fail due to this problem but will their EV prices drop or do we only buy their models and take the hit on higher prices? Will Hyundai and Kia join in the price cut, they are large enough to ride out a price war for a year or two?
