Picked my one up on Saturday and so far loving it. It's not everyone ones cup of tea but I've no major gripes with it.

Exactly LR NUT, what others think doesn't matter as long as you're happy with it j77.
I've always been a fan of Discoveries and so want to love the latest but even after seeing one in a local dealer and having a poke around the other week it just doesn't click for me, can't put my finger on why but I don't feel the want anymore - not that it matters as I'm not in the position to buy one anyway..

I had a lot of doubts during ordering, it wasn't until I drove one, it then clicked for me.

The Discovery has always been my favourite, this is my 4th, I had 3 Fl2s great cars but bought mainly because they were a more sensible option for someone who spends most of the time in the car on there own. This Disco, if I'm honest, I struggle to see it as a Disco, it's more a Discovery/Range Rover inbreed. The Discovery 3 will always be my favourite, the black arches just look right.

It is a hugely capable car, and takes the D4s supreme off road ability to the next level, where it falls down slightly is it's practicality, it's hindered by the sloping rear though it's not so much of an issue for me but a big issue for others. I though the daft plank would be annoying but it's proving just as useful as the split tailgate for most things. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

j77 - agree re the black arches, I still see early D3 pics and think that looks so good (though if I could get a TDI Discovery as new that would still be my choice, can't beat the early ones Smile).
While the D4 is lovely the look just wasn't right anymore to me, maybe that's why the New Discovery doesn't work for me, it takes the softening of the image that the 4 started and takes it too far for me.
I do like the colour of yours though, shame the rest of the options are a bit dull but then that's what the market wants these days.

I like the exterior colour of your D5 and as I work in technology I like the advancements that Land Rover are making across the range even if some of the gadgets are really just gimmicks and will hardly be used. The exterior shape will take a bit of getting used to but I remember when the D3 first came out it was slated for it's slab sided appearance. Now though, everyone seems to agree that the D3 & D4 are the shape to have.

j77, an review from yourself would be good once you've done a few thousand miles in it.
