The spacer doesn't affect luggage capacity, those useless seats do. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

The space saver spare is a £150 option on Discovery Sport

I think that was a pretty good review.

The spare wheel is located under the rear of the car and is wound down from inside in the same way as the RRS and Dicso Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up I get it now.
Seems a bit of a kerfuffle to say the least but having a spare (even a space saver) would make the difference for me whether to buy a car. Cheers mate _________________

Hmm.....60mm wading depth....hope that's a mistake or it really has moved too far towards being a road car only!! Smile 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

Debacle!

My Peugeot 504 had a cradle under the boot which was released by a tug on a handle/eye in the end of the boot. When finished the other wheel was pushed back into the cradle and the cradle pushed back up into the closed position. It wasn't too heavy either, having used it too many times. It was simple to use.

I can see people forgetting to put the car's ar-- & tackle in the boot, driving off leaving it beside the road in a sorry state waiting to be picked up! A nice little earner for replacement ar--s! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

D-Man,
It's a mistake!!!
Wading depth is 600mm which is 100mm more than a Freelander 2, Evoque or Defender.

and then …..?

So whilst driving your shiny new Discovery Sport you suddenly get a puncture, replace it carefully with the space saver wheel you paid an extra option price for, then you store the full size wheel ……….. err …… where?!!

I asked this at the Harwoods DS ride & drive event; they had no answer ready at the time. I guess you could ask one of the rear passengers to cradle it in their arms for a while! Laughing Life is not a dress rehearsal!

It's bleedingly obvious..... you slide the second row of seats as far forward as they will travel & place the full size wheel across the third row of seats so the rim doesn't get damaged!

The car's ar-- & tackle are placed it the small boot! If you remember, but one has probably had enough by now!

The other 5 passengers are just going to have to walk home with their luggage as there is no room left in the second or third row. At least they get some forced exercise which will be good for them!

Don't forget one will always loose one rear seat due to the storage of the groundsheet required to crawl under the car to prevent the car from getting filthy, to remove the fixings with special tool. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
