That's the idea

I also don't want to off road this one at the moment, but something like a forrestry commision track

there's one just above arberfoyle in Scotland I did a couple of years ago which was a great drive about 7miles round the lochs, off road but on gravel tracks which any car could do(my brothers V50 could)

is there anything like that in the lakes? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Athelstan - yes, I know, it's a bit of dosh. I used to have a Swiss girlfriend before I married. She could speak 4 languages fluently, didn't need to do much for a living and had two houses in the UK and one near Zurich. It was a four bedroomed semi. She told me she paid 500k just for the land. As I remember, it was me that broke it off......... Rolling Eyes

Yes, on for the meet, why not? Could be interesting. Might have to take the Disco mind you as I'd be stuck for someone to dump the kids with.

And besides which, I'd enjoy Lookers LR being there. We could negotiate face to face or how about a game of chance?

Appears to me Carnoch that you played the wrong cards at the wrong time, but money isn't everything. I met my other Swiss half when she was a student - cost me a few portfolio disposals before she could afford to buy me an ice cream. She was young and I was "greying". It was pure lust not fiscal assets that mattered. She speaks 6 languages, two of which are almost incomprehensible - Norwegen and Romanisch. She gave me something more precious than money - my only child. A healthy young daughter.

Fair comment or should I have married the dairy heiress - am I kidding? The Swiss lady was nice, but they do think and do things so differently from British girls. It's a bit disconcerting.

I know I did mention house buying cost as a reason why I couldn't do a Swiss meet, but can we try keep this on topic for a while longer before anybody else joins in about old flames........

Aw, you just don't have any fun left in you. It beats the off topic about litter or caravans! Anyway, I might be moving house myself this year. if I can get my finger out. Sod the Estate Agents fees, it's the stamp duty thats the killer!

Why don't you kick off with some dates and lets get this thing off the ground. It will give us something to focus on, even if we change it later. Don't mind any accomodation, but Mrs. prefers a reasonable hotel.

I think warmer weather would be better, but my childhood in the lakes I know that can mean jack Censored As it does what it wants

I'm away last week in June for around 2 weeks in Scotland (I think)so either a weekend prior to that or just after, but keeping away from bank holidays as I am booked away for all of them too Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The schools break up for the summer holidays 2nd July up here. Believe it or not, it's late this year. That being so, before your Scotland trip. May sounds good. Anyone else got any ideas? We'd need to avoid the busy spells I presume.
