In Birmingham two venues have been closed after repeatedly having ignoring requests to cease having party groups of 100+ . They each got fined £10K.
Why haven't the attendees been fined - they all know they were breaking the law too. It not as if they were could not be traced - both weddings I believe Jules

I have one neighbour family, the newest on the street, that I have never seen social distance since about 1 month after Ontario,Canada did their initial shut down. They are like Grand Central Station.............the rural lots are large but they really like to congregate at the beginning of their driveway, strangest thing. Confused

Well I suppose most garden centres are bigger than gardens.........I know that’s not a “real” answer but then neither was your point Thumbs Up

So many tiny details for people (and mostly the press) to pick up on and make a fuss......just be sensible and safe peeps. Regards

A woman on the radio was concerned her children wouldn't see granny and Grandad at Christmas. There were apparently 3 kids so she was permutating every way possible that would allow her to visit her parents and then the husband took same brood to his family - she figured only six together at any one time so all ok. No way said the expert, you can't go from one bubble to another - one set of grandparents only. Her dreams were shattered. Well could they just pop in briefly to drop pressies off . . . . . . . . . . ?
Not sure who went off to kill themselves, her or the expert

How about she just tell the kids that Santa has Covid and the presents will be delivered when he gets better?

beats risking both sets of grandparents getting Covid Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Not exactly for this forum I know; but what really hurts is that as a member of a golf club at £1,500 per year where I regularly play with one other, so that's two people setting out at 10 min intervals between pairs, we are now curtailed from that activity. But from Thursday two other non club members from the general public can walk round the same ground as exercise, walk across the greens and tees, ride bikes, bring their kids to play in the bunkers like sand pits, AND leave their snacking litter anywhere including piles under sealed litter bins, and generally abuse and use like a public playground. With the clubhouse closed, golf is the very essence of outdoor exercise and social distancing.

Why not for this forum - this is anything goes section?

While not being a golfist, I do agree that going for a walk on a golf course with another person is allowed, the same walk with a set of golf clubs is banned is a non-sense, it's not as though you share the clubs.
A walk in the fresh air, with conversation (banter?) with a like minded soul can only be good for your physical and mental well being.

The litter issue is symptomatic of a wide spread attitude, the "system" should look after me, I shouldn't be inconvenienced by having to clear up my own mess. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I'm so sorry for your loss Paul - I'll think of you when I'm sat at home not being able to visit my ageing Mum at all & worrying if my business will survive this GLOBAL PANDEMIC Rolling Eyes

Do the rules make perfect sense? No - but they are by nature a fairly blunt instrument to try and address the issues we face, what we all need to do is observe them, which if we had been, we would not be in this mess now - the rules are not the problem - compliance IS 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic
