I am not sure who made the reccommend to zero mpg and start again, who ever it was thank you.
My average was 32.4, today I zero and on a 50 mile round trip today my average is 36.5.

Not on mine, get the occasional tailgate open as it never wants to fully lock unless i slam it, but if slammed too hard it still is open
