This post has diverted from subject.
I have zero interest in EV.
I would like a small SUV with as little electrical interference as possible, petrol or diesel and a conventional automatic gearbox.
Is that too much to ask?

For her in a very rural Scottish location the cost of a 3 phase supply would not be economic, though the PHEV range and over night charge would be adequate for her daily commute

No need for 3 phase electric, most EVs can't even make full use of it.
A standard domestic single phase supply will supply the 32Amps needed to charge at 7.4kW. This adds 20 to 25 miles of range for every hour of charging.

Octopus and Eon both offer excellent low cost EV charging for 6 hours at under 8p per kWh, which means a full battery for less than a gallon of petrol.

With the power outages in the winter an EV is not the way for her to go, they are fairly common in her .area my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

A standard 230v 10amp outlet, if you have your car charging overnight for 10 hours, that's 23kWh. A 15 amp circuit is 34.5kWh. Most people's daily commute is pretty low.

If a bit short on 230v circuits in the home, just get an additional circuit installed. Or a bit bigger like a 20 amp circuit for a stove, that would give you 46kWh over 10 hours.

In Sydney we have noticed more of these small boxes, about a cubic foot, popping up along the streets. They are boosters for voltage in that very local area.

We are fairly close to a substation & our voltage hovers around 248 volts according to my RMS Meter. The Standard for 230v is + 10% to – 6%, at least in Australia. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

There is only one replacement for the Feelander 2; another Freelander 2.

If we had a second garage we would think of buying a spare.

For a car a decade plus old, there are handful in my very local area, we are surprised by the number, all in great condition, parked on the street. A lot of properties without off street parking. There are not many cars out there that are fresh out of the oven or almost 2 decades old which have any visual redeeming qualities.

My personal opinion is that all Toyotas have been done over with the ugly stick beyond any understanding of reasoning. The only model which looked good was the Rav 3 door. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
