My 2011 diesel 125,000 miles, had a failing noisy alternator so I had the local garage replace the alternator and whilst they had the car replace the timing belt and water pump as I had no idea of its replacement history.

I have checked DTC codes permanent and temporary there are none, as I say changing the MAF sensor has improved the situation.

After sending my reply just…….I thought…since thé problem is only since repair work …..it may be possible that it’s to do with the crankshaft position sensor or wiring…..that would have been disturbed during work on cam belt. Another common problem….well documented on this forum. Would have expected DTC would be logged though.

Have you tried running SDD on a W7 in a virtual machine running on your W11? |

The ECM doesn't calibrate the MAF without the Air Path Calibration being run. Also fitting a second hand unit is pointless, as they wear out over time. Get a genuine new Bosch replacement, and run the APC in SDD. The engine must be at running temperature, with a new air filter, and good (not stale) fuel. The calibrated can take up to 30 minutes, but it does depend on the ambient air temperature. A misfire after work suggest an issue, maybe the cam timing is out, or more likely an issue with the crank sensor or its plug or wiring. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. Did you check the crankshaft position sensor ? Perhaps all ok now…or you could be going around in circles if you have replaced MAF sensor without a DTC being logged……replaced with s/h unit………..I fitted a brand new Hitachi OE MAF which gave a way-out reading…..intake air temp -39deg….! It made the engine run worse……confusing things……..luckily I got a full refund for item……& luckily I managed to solve the underlying problem……. Take diagnosis step by step…..study DTCs…….& don’t jump to conclusions….
