Thanks Jules. Thats my thinking, because it is quite noisy. I believe that will just put me in @ wheel drive. As its the summer ! Hopefully, I won't need 4wd until the winter comes.

I am not sure that just removing the fuse is a good long term fix. Why not talk it over with Bell Engineering, because it may effect other stability systems. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 82k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

Sorry for the delay in coming back. Computer issues. Not done a lot of miles, but I have left the fuse out. Going to do a bit of research and see if I can give the Halex a decent service. If that don't work, then I will at least know that the halex may need some more serious work. |

I had to remove my fuse until I could get it done by Bell, I had the full works on the haldex but it does not come with a guarantee.

The manual says that the Haldex (Active On-Demand Coupling) relaxes when you apply steering angle, this is to avoid the stress between the two driven axles.

Ok a bit too much for me, I guess all of that means I shouldn’t get any scrabbling. 🙈 |

Unlike the earlier (FL1 for example) of Haldex(like) 4x4 solutions, which simply relied on a pump driven by the difference of velocity between the two axles, the gen 3 and 4 Haldex of the FL2 is controlled electronically from many inputs to give varying amounts of torque to the rear axle.

Ok got it so the scrabbling I get could be expected, but for reasons unknown to me command shift does not work, there seems to be a lack of info on command shift problems. |

If you have problems with command shift I suggest you start a thread giving some details about what is wrong. |
