Were those people made aware of the potential consequences ot were they conned ? If so, then all those lawyers at SSB involved in conning people should be struck off. Jules

Recently I have been getting phone calls from people/companies saying that I may be in line to get many thousands of pounds dieselgate compensation. All of the callers sound like scammers to me so I have not accepted their "services".

The annoying and worrying thing is that they know my name, phone number, the reg. number and model of the car. How do they get this information? As far as I know only the DVLA and the dealer I bought the car from would have this information.

I don't actually deserve a claim, I wasn't miss sold a diesel, I bought it in the knowledge it was right for my needs. I wasn't concerned about its emissions and I'll happily buy another diesel when the time comes, just a bit wary of the complexity and potential unreliability of Euro 6 diesels. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Cant help regarding Euro 6 reliabilty - I actually dont know anyone with a Euro6 diesel. Everyone I know who has changed their cars in the last few years has gone down the petrol/hybrid (+/- Plug-in) route. Jules

I just think the hybrid is the worst choice all round. 2 different power trains to maintain and go wrong.
My neighbour has a Rav4 2.5 petrol self charging hybrid. It's a year old and already been in the garage with battery issues preventing it starting on petrol or running on electric. It only does about 44mpg combined.
My dad drove diesel for years but since he retired he's doing really limited miles. He bought a new Skoda Karoq Tdi 4x4 four years ago, only done something like 17000 miles in it and it started having nox sensor issues, basically not getting warm enough for long enough, doing maybe 8 miles a day round trip to pick up granddaughter from school.
He's just ordered a new 2.0 petrol 4x4 Karoq to replace it, didn't fancy hybrid and swears he'll never drive a milk float! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I like the idea of a PHEV - bypasses the public charging issues.

But as you say its the worst of both worlds from a potential reliability point of view.

I just hope my FL2 keeps going for a bit longer. Jules

I have a 2017 Skoda Yeti, that's Euro 6, and has been no trouble at all in the year I've had it now.
I have done 20,000 miles in it in that time though, so plenty of journeys to keep it all clear and doing what it should.
