Wales 2010 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Thanks Arctic, the starter contacts i changed myself about a year and half ago. TBH if it was them that was the fault, then i assume we would still get dash lights (ignition etc), but when we press the start button, nothing happens, no ignition lights etc. but when we press it a few times then it kicks into life, ignition lights come on and press the button again with foot on brake to start, and hey presto all good, but last few times we had problems turning the vehicle off, need to keep pressing button a few times. i have ordered a new button from Landrover. so its due on Wednesday this week, i will change and report back.

I had issues with the starter button on my 2011 shortly after getting it late 2021. Sometimes it would take quite a few prods and firm prods at that. It was replaced under the warranty and problem solved. Ultimately it did need a starter motor at a later date too. Luckily, that too was replaced under warranty.

Worth calling Duckworths, Market Rasen, genuine parts & they will confirm at time of ordering if in stock.

Looks like there were 3 different part numbers dependant on vin as below.

LR002193 - (SWITCH - IGNITION WITH PUSH BUTTON CONTROL) [ up to (V)AH180027 ]
LR023490 - (SWITCH - IGNITION WITH PUSH BUTTON CONTROL) [ from (V)AH180028 - ]
LR039740 -(SWITCH - IGNITION WITH PUSH BUTTON CONTROL) [ from (V)DH000001 - ]

The last number is available from JLR classic at £27.56 and says it fits 2006 to 2014 so presume backwards compatible.

Well the search continues, this email came this morning from Rimmer Bros

"I am sorry this part did not arrive and on inspection with Land Rover they have no expected delivery date at present"
