My earlier post:

Some people just don't get it, or maybe they do but just for themselves.

In Tesco this morning and they are limiting customers to one pack of eggs. A woman and three men were shopping together (I guess the men were off work and supposed to be isolating) so the woman told the men to buy one pack each and put them in the car and then come back to the shop where they would all buy another pack each. So that is one way to beat the rationing, or otherwise I'm all right Jack - stuff you and your family.

J

PS: hope the eggs are contaminated with salmonella and they all get sick.

Keep the chicks coming George.

Lock Down stay home or get fined, get groceries delivered - I've been trying to arrange that for 10 days so far but no slots and apparently no-one in the customer service centres as phone constantly busy or just playing a recorded message befor disconnecting the call.

We will struggle but that will be as nothing compared to so many poor sods.

Best wishes to all members especially those who are deemed to be vulnerable.

No total lock down.

Boris got it wrong.

You can still go to work if it cannot be done at home.

On Sunday, as Victoria and New South Wales flagged shutdowns of non-essential services, Australia's biggest brewers warned the country could run out of beer within weeks.

You think you have problems when you have a few weeks to stock up, I've just had an email from the Wine Society that they are suspending all deliveries with immediate effect, and that includes my order which was scheduled for delivery tomorow. Looks like I will be having coq without van for dinner.

We’ve a local farm we buy “green milk” from but presently due to our circumstance we are definitely not going out shopping, and trying to rely on home deliveries has been an absolute nightmare, I booked and order from Waitrose almost two weeks ago and the delivery slot is April 22nd Shocked , since then we haven’t been able to get in the site at all.

We managed to get an Asda order through, should be coming on Thursday but almost everything was OOS online, the others we haven’t been able to get accounts with/access online so far.

Hopefully there will be a tie up soon (through UK.GOV) with Amazon/UPS/DPD etc etc......as they will have the infrastructure and capacity (due to online non essential orders being cut) and the home delivery of food will get better.

Or am I just dreaming? Regards

David

sowing the seeds, barley in this field
Crop behind is oilseed rape, used to make cooking oil, pale sick looking crop on right is also barley, should recover as its had fertiliser now that its dry enough to drive in the field at last.

I wonder how our traveller friends are coping now that McDonald’s are shut?
Maybe you could spare a corner of that field?
Then supply them with chicken.

A good Christian act that would be............

Barley to make the flour for the coating, and oil in which to fry. Are you taking on the whole process to save humanity? I can see the chain of "Chicken George" shops as soon as we get back to the new normal. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Sadly barley not great for human food consumption, more for animal feed and making malt for beer/whisky
but I do grow wheat for flour, also spuds.

Near neighbour supplies 1000s of eggs daily, other neighbours tonnes of bacon, A mile away it will soon be asparagus season then strawberries,

a long way by road but a mile as a crow is a very northerly vineyard
