'Scandinavian' lights mode

Is the option for Scandinavian lights mode, i.e. headlights on with ignition on, available in a 2008 FL 2?

One of the options in the CCF is:

Daytime Running Lamps

'Always dipped lighting except in position 'P' '

So the answer is probably yes but I haven't tried it! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
171037Km as of 09/05/22
Superchips Bluefin Flash
Nanocom Evo II (also sold)

Many thanks, Badger51, that’s just what I wanted to know.

OK, I’ve hunted around SDD but I can’t find anywhere to adjust the lights settings. Can anyone say exactly where it is?

Just wondering does your scanner allow you to open the CCF adjustments?

I really don’t know! It’s a MongoosePro clone and I’m using V130 of SDD.

Tell me more!

This screenshot from the Pre Delivery Inspection session of the 2012 Technical Training manual for IDS/SDD shows what I'm looking for but I can’t find it when poking around the options in my 2008 FL2

. Any suggestions as to where it might be?

Check out your scanner specs. If they don't mention access to CCF then you need a better scanner

Thanks the 'MongoosePro' (it’s a clone, not the real thing) is a JLR approved device so I imagine it provides full functionality. It’s just odd that the lights mode is shown in the training manual, but when I check this section of SDD it’s not there. I’ll have another hunt for it.

It may of course be in another section of the scanner software since it's not a fault code.

Is there a help group for that scanner, try asking about CCF functions there

The Mongoose doesn’t have its own software - I’m using the JLR IDS/SDD software which is why I’m puzzling that the manual for the software shows what I’m looking for but it isn’t there when I hook up. I can’t be sure which version the manual is for so it may be a later one than 130 but I gather 130 is the most reliable one to use for Land Rovers. More digging needed.

Brazil 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Barolo Black
running lights on all time

All, I have a 2012, FL2, SD4. We are in Brazil. In 2012 there was no reqirement for daytime running lights. now hter is and I have got three tickets and 6 points for having forgotten to turn on the lights.
I have been at local car electrical shops to have a relay or similar fitted. For now I have put black nailpolish on the light sensor and it works most of the time but not in stsark sunlight.
My question, I am no expert on this but as far as I understand from this tread then it is possible to alter the setting on the computer so that running lights is always on, when ignition is on. Is that correctly understood?
If yes, can you help me to direct hte car mechanic where to look and what tools he needs please?
We are based far out into the countryside, nearest LR experienced mecanic is at least 3 hours away.

You need to get into the CCF to change the daytime running running lamps, you need a scanner that will do this.

It's a JLR SDD software setting. No mechanical tools, etc. You are modifying the CCF, car config file, through the OBDII port while supporting the car battery with a "supply" charger.

I also have SDD and a foxwell NT530 which allows config, i will have a look when i get a chance.

For the SDD it scans the car and sets itself up for the hardware and software already on the car - the option may not be there if for example an extra bit of hardware or software was added in the face lift model to allow for this,
The SDD is just flicking software switches - if the software or the hardware aint there to support a function it aint gonna work.

Also as you pointed out you are using 130 - like me but 138 came with my mangoose. I thought last night about installing 138 in the VM for 130, not sure if it will work - i can bluff my way around SW but its not my thing. Stewart
