Aircon on ??? - seams about right to me, unlike some of these hypermilers who get 45+ mpg

Aircon off with sunroof tilted on a similar journey I reckon i get about an extra 4 / 5 mpg Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Journey back from Bristol started at 0600hrs and not warm so air con not in use and all windows shut.

If I had been a little lighter of right foot and, maybe 10mph slower, the mpg would no doubt have been a little better.

From my experience Fleelanders - both FL1 & FL2 have always been easy motorway/long distance tourers and a delight to drive.

40mpg on a run down to Cheshire Oaks and back (120 miles or so) at a steady 65 ish on cruise control. I did it mainly as a test to see what it would do, plus it's a bit more relaxing just pootling along. Cool Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

Went down to Newmarket last Friday, fully laden with four people and full tank of diesel average MPG on the way down 45.6 on the way on back same day up minus two people and just over a half a tank average MPG 38.5, would have thought it would have been more that the trip down but as Mrs Toeknee suggested it’s because we are going uphill all the way back oop North

Ah, female logic. Can't beat it. Could it have been that you were rushing a bit to get back to friendly territory? Whistle Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

New TD4 GS on 1st April :

- First 1000 miles, 37.5 mpg
- Current 1000 miles to date, 38.1 mpg

Mixed motorway and local driving. Using stop / start.

Quite pleased so far. Much better than the 18 mpg Subaru Impreza I traded in!

Not quite as quick though ....
