I have been a member for 7 years, three FL2's and yes things have changed over those years. I enjoyed being part of the events we had such as two factory visits, the shooting events and the small BB meets, I made good 'friends' but time moved on and those things are now non existent.
I still have my FL2, read the forum daily but now rarely post, it was a good chapter in my life and the social events were sadly missed

As said before, this site has to be one of the best moderated forums about, with great thanks to the efforts of Martin, yourself & Nick.
But to the unobserved, maybe this is why it's taken its toll!
You have been a very great help to me since my 'free transfer' from the Disco 4 forum.

Suppose it's like living in a small conservation village where doors are kept unlocked and everyone knows everyone else.
Next thing, planning allows the development of hundreds of new houses of the perimeter.
You then find your space at the pub has been taken over by tattood beer swilling thugs and your pub friends now stay at home, Doris down at the local shop has forcibly been 'retired' only to be replaced by a cheaper blue haired, pierced bird in leggings.
Your doors now need locked, cars regularly now block your driveway, the public grass you've mown for years is now being overrun with dogs with their little 'deposits' ... etc, etc!!!!
Yes, I speak from a similar true experience!

As said, unfortunately nothing stays the same forever.
Hope you still stay on as a forum member Paul, and start dishing out what's been dished to you recently.

agree that change is inevitable and that's what has happened with Landrover ownership.

when I bought my first Landrover into 1998 it was special and without being snobbish so were the owners?

but time has moved on, and so has the Landrover badge with it's new type of owners.

Yes I would like to add my regrets to all those that have been recorded already. I do not know you Paul, but agree that the moderation on this forum is 1st class and I have always enjoyed your input. I have to say, that personally I have seen very little of what could be termed personal abuse on this website and believe that that is one of its great strengths, together with the fantastic depth of knowledge that exists which is always shared willingly and with great patience. It seems to be part of the current national malaise that if you disagree with someone, it is acceptable to abuse or shouted them down.
