Thanks Podcast for the info, managed to get a NV U82 from Halfords which is the same as the 83 but without the bluetooth - that's all I could get hold of. Planning to install at the weekend. Like you I just anted something to fit the hole as I already have a Tom Tom for my other car.

No problem, to be honest I couldn't believe the fit, although I've added a couple of sicky pads top/bottom so it's even snugger in the hole... Shocked Just follow what I wrote for fitting the cable & no need to remove the centre console! Thumbs Up

£25 to hard wire the unit and when you switch off the ignition it give 2 options power off automatically after 30seconds or run off battery then once you start car again it power up on its own. Very Happy thats what its does when i tried it in my present car. I wired mine into the power lead that powers the front cigarette lighter; saves going behind the dash.

There is a fuse box in the passenger footwell, at least one fuse in there should be suitable and convenient? At work

I might give that a go, took my FL2 in to the stealers today for the heater fuse fire risk Shocked & wondered if they could wire it up out of courtesy Rolling Eyes

The answer was no & ironically they wanted 0.8hrs = £76 + VAT to wire it up? They were embarressed when I told them I couldn't justify spending more on fitting the satnav than it actually cost to buy in the first place! Big Cry

What a bunch of Censored...

Barton, which dealer charged you £25 to wire it up? Thanks! Thumbs Up

If was Marshalls at Peterboro but they passed on the work on to the guys who fitted my parrot bluetooth and roofmount dvd so it was all done at the same time, just make sure you fit it to a accesory socket though as it still need to run at 5.3volts so don't just cut the plug of and wire it to 12volts as you risk it catching fire according to the sony nav forums. Hi
I've made some LandRover splash screens for the u93 if anyone is interested.
(I would think they will work on any 4.8 inch screen Sony)
