DPF Indentification by VIN

I was under the impression that MY15's would have DPF.
I'm now being led to believe in Australia no FL2 came here with DPF.
Can anyone tell me if this can be verified by the VIN number?

Have a look on ToPix, you need to register, it's free and you can get a detailed list of what is on your car. Thumbs Up

Not sure about your car as it is newer but with the older models if you have an 'H' in the middle of your VIN number, this means you don't have a DPF.

Thxs Taztastic, Yes I'm already registered and there's no mention of DPF but then I don't know what it should say?
Yes RichP Infact there is a "H" right in front of the last 6 digits - H######.
So this means I don't have DPF - Wow! I'm Amazed, shocked and relieved all at once -Lol.
As I do quite short trips as I'm in the CBD I'm relieved as this type of travel appears, from what I have read, to issues around regeneration.
As I came from a V6 FL1 I was keen to get a diesel this time as the Si4 really didn't get great L/100 but was concerned reading about DPF regeneration and short trips.
Amazed that here in Australia we can get away with this.
As you can see in running about 10L/100 atm that more than half what the v6 was doing and that's during our summer with a/c on all the time. To read that I was going to run into regeneration issues was a little concerning but I think I'm a bit happier now, thxs guys👍

A quick 10 second job get under the car and take a look. The large rectangular box at the front with the ridges is the DPF. I do a lot of town driving and once a month I take the car out for a 30min run. I have never had any DPF issues yet Thumbs Up

Thxs LRNUT, that certainly confirms I don't, we in Australia, don't have DPF😊
Any ideas on what the black plastic object is on the side of the pipe?

It was mentioned above that the 10th character of the VIN Code was indicator of whether your Freelander had cDPF fitted.

In fact it is the 8th character that is the indicator ... just in case you don't fancy getting underneath the vehicle and looking.

The reference is the following PDF - Page 4:

Hope that helps. Wink
