Tailgate Lock Problem

Hi, Just found the forum on the net and wonder if anyone can help with a problem with my tailgate lock which has just occurred with my Freelander 2 GSTD4 (2007). The tailgate will now not open with all the other door locks. It will still open seperately on the fob and if I operate it with the buttons on the dash, but no longer when I open the car normally. Any advise much appreciated. Cheers Alan

Are you saying that tailgate won't open with release button on tailgate? If so you need to replace tailgate switch, very common and equally simple to replace. Search on here will provide step by step instructions. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Usually all the switch needs is cleaned - it tends to be the mechanical bits which jam up rather than the microswitch itself. Just had to do this to mine.

As Jim says just use the search facility. There are several posts relating to this, one of which has a step by step guide with pictures.
