Thumbs Up looks very well the C pillar on black, from my point of view, much beater than the the D in color code... Whistle I feel the rear window proportion little distorted, looks smaller. At the end, question of flavors... Razz

Looks awesome LR Nut!

I have a black fl2 and would like to paint the D pillars gloss black too (to make the after market black door handles, side vents and front grill)

2 questions, on my car and presumably all fl2's the D pillar is a textured plastic, not smooth. Was yours covered in film first then painted or somehow smoothed over first? In your pictures it looks smooth but maybe it just the pic

Secondly, you haven't changed the lettering to gloss black, any reason why? I'm considering this step as they sell them on eBay

Thanks mate

Thanks Luke Very Happy yes all D pillars are textured and mine where painted from new by my LR dealership, they were sanded and then painted. I have heard of film being applied to the d pillars on the range rover L322 prior to painting and the finish is still just as good! I'm surprised no one else has coded the D pillars on a freelander! It totally transforms the car Thumbs Up

Yes I have changed my badges and done many more mods! She has been Kahn converted also but sadly I cannot seem to upload photos (been a while now) so my bio is not up to date sadly MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Hi, LR Nut
Can't quite make out from the photos if the back apron was cut to accommodate the towbar?
Cheers

Hi there yes a small neat cut approx 5cm x 4cm was trimmed by the dealers. You have to lie on the floor to see this as it is the underside of the bumper MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Thank you Very Happy

I went for the genuine LR Fixed Height Tow Bar LR007479 with twin electrics on either side! A fixed tow bar is always the best option IMO as it protects rear of the car in traffic from a shunt and it is cheaper to replace the tow ball for £12.00 when it wears away if you do a lot of heavy towing. The replacement detachable tow ball from LR would cost you approx £80 + vat. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Much better option on the towbar is a Witter detachable flanged. Obviously detachable and as you mention, you get the convenience if being able to replace the ball when required at minimal cost. I can't believe you spoiled the rear with a fixed system. FL2 2007 57 GS

I've not been able to update my thread as I had problems uploading photos! Car went into Kahn a while back to be converted! I appreciate it will not be to everyone's taste it's just for a bit of fun! I had her on the family farm a few weeks back and the 22's will still get you very far the key is to have decent tyres Laughing Having said that come winter time the 19's will go back on. I've also opted for made to order stainless cobra tubes from Germany and you can actually stand on them which is great

Some more snaps ....

Apologies as bio is not in a continuos flow anymore due to having not been able to upload photos for a while!

Here's a better pic of the bonnet louvres fitted they were given as gift and tbh I didn't think they would look nice or even fit right. With the black pack on the dynamic contrasted by fuji white they really do look OEM and colour match is perfect.

I also fitted a spacer block to the genuine towbar handy for the extra clearance when hitching a trailer up (was not needed in all honesty) The main reason was that if sum Censored bumps the car and drives off their should be no damage to my bumper or the quad exhausts depending on what angle they hit and more importantly if I'm rear ended in traffic.

The cool bit was when the rear camera is now on you can see the actual tow ball so you can park even hard up anywhere after the sensors continues beep without worrying Very Happy
