Hi Nexodus,

The answer to your question is yes, you can hear the bluetooth call voice through the speakers. And it works quite well, the mic quality is not great but bearable for the other end. I'm planning adding an Xtrons Mic002 - hopefully that would improve sound quality even further. MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

Just to report back, I'm very happy with the PB78DLRPL installation. Just added a wifi modem, all works well, sound quality is better than expected.

One gripe though: when starting, unit's volume is always at 12 out of 30, which is very annoying. Did anyone find an easy way to make it start at full volume? MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

Hi Round,

Can you point me to the right setting? I've tried going to the Android settings menu - Sound then Volumes is the entry, move slider to 30 (max), reboot - it's back at 12! Could not find anything else volume related!

Thanks a lot! MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

Yea it’s not obvious. Took me ages to find it...

Settings
Car
Factory settings (password: 126)
Other tab
Scroll down to Boot default volume
Click on down arrow and select a volume number
Apply
Exit
Unit will reboot.

Hope that helps

You, sir, are a life-saver! Smile

Was just about bracing myself for rooting / custom firmware, the works. Your method worked like a charm, thanks a lot!

The only other thing that I did not get to work is the auto-dim when lights are on. I hope it's simply a matter of wiring the ILLUM wire somewhere - did anyone find a good place to do that? MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HST Auto Barolo Black

Hi all new to the forum needed some advice.

I ordered one of these (second one to be precise had same problem with the first one.

Connected everything up but can’t seem to get any power to the unit and it won’t switch on.

Played with all the connections and everything seems fine just no power.

As mentioned above this is a replacement unit as I thought the first may have been faulty and still no result.

Car is a freelander 2 hst 58 reg.

Thanks in advance.

@round thanks for the reply!

Could you explain what you mean?

I’ve hooked it up so that one loon goes into the standard radio and into the aftermarket one when I switch on the standard radio it shows 6cd then displays time again however aftermarket one doesn’t seem to power on at all

Right so after hours of faffiing around I have a solution!

For some odd reason the xtrons unit will only power up with the old sat nav unit connected to its looms.

So I’ve connected the old sat along with the xtrons and left it placed in my glovebox.

Could someone advice me if this is normal? Or have I missed something completely?

Did you correctly terminate the MOST fibre optic link as described at the start of this thread? If you didn't you won't have audio through the CD/Radio even when "Aux in" is selected unless you leave the sat nav connected. You say it won't power up though which is puzzling me - it should power up with the CD/Radio and power down again when that switches off if it is connected correctly.
