[Solved] Volumetric Alarm won't work

Hi everyone,

FL2 02/2012 - 6500 miles.

I've noticed that my volumetric alarm is not working. I've followed instructions to activate it means push lock door button twice. I cannot open the vehicle from the interior which is normal I think ... but also when I move in the interior nothing happens.

The dealer's diag computer says that the option is activated.

any ideas please ? maybe sensor issue ? where is/are it/they located ? are there many ?

Thank you in advance

Cheers

I am not sure it will work with you inside the car.
If you put down the window, press twice on the lock, and then put your hand inside (through the open window) and move about a bit, you should trigger the motion alarm. It's never too late to learn something new...

Thank you

Actually I already did the test you are suggesting. Nothing happens ...

Also, I think that it should work when someone is in the car as the sensors are able to detect movements.

if you have not got the sensor on the roof, i don't think you will have volumetric alarm, as these are the sensors for it on the ones with a sunroof, i don't know where the sensors are (if any) on ones without sunroofs or if they have volumetric alarms

the cars manual does cover a whole multitude of things including things that are not fitted on the cars, sort of one manual does it all, so you might have read about the alarm which you have not got been a Moroccan spec'd FL2 HSE Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

And for the models that don't have sunroof, is the sensor located in the same place ?

I don't know if they have the volumetric alarm

Whilst looking at the LR website the UK Spec HSE Safety and security list these

FL2 HSE UK SPEC wrote:

Central locking remote all doors, fuel cap and tailgate
Perimetric and volumetric alarm
Remote control central locking and press button start/stop
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
Four-wheel disc brakes with mechanical handbrake
Two ISOFIX child anchorage points
Passenger airbag isolation switch
Seat belts - front pre-tensioners with load limiters

were as the Moroccan website states

If you take off the battery box lid, and look behind it below the black plastic windscreen surround, does your FL2 have a alarm sounder? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yes it's in there.

BTW when I'm inside the car (locked) and when I open the bonnet, the alarm sounds.

So it' clear now, I only have perimetric alarm and not the volumetric.
