Although I do not require snow socks, my dad is considering getting some for his A4.

My brother uses them on his A6 and they are pretty impressive - seen them in action in very steep road in Alps. |

I have just checked, and I see that www.the12voltshop.co.uk still sell them, but they have gone up to £102.

Bought a set for my A4 after the snow 2 years ago meant it took me 7 hrs to get home, 3 of them trying to get up a motorway slip road. Man with salt eventually helped me! Didn't use them last year as always took the Landy to work so no need. Friend of mine works for a gas company and they were supplied with them last year and he said they were good. Make sure you buy the good ones though, Auto Socks http://www.autosock.co.uk/ available from The Roofbox Company as the others are just cheapo imitations I think. Be aware though, they are only meant to get you out of trouble. They are not a driving around permanently solution. |

With everyone talking about snow, ice, socks and specialist tyres, I thought some of you might be interested to know that Costco are selling These. Available in various sizes for less than £50 if I remember correctly. |
