I had much the same problem on my D2,
I replaced the the ventilation valves and all good afterwards.
So would not the freelander have a simular set up?

My vehicle is a SD4 Auto ( no stop/start ) and I fitted a Varta F18 from Battery Megastore last summer and it has been fine Smile

Does your FL2 have Xenons?
Perhaps Xenons generate less heat than Halogens so don't evaporate the most ?

The one thing that doesn't seem to have been available as an option on MY13 on was HID Xenon headlights.
They were only available on HSE Lux and then Metropolis spec.
Unfortunately on MY13 vehicles ...

Agree - Metropolis is fully specced up - and the Xenon headlamps are especially worthwhile Smile

Checked today and all my power sockets power off about 3 minutes after the ignition is turned off.
So will need to reconsider fitting a 13 pin socket
