I had the unit out and there was no fault with it. So no pictures.

Did your mechanic pressure check the intake system?
Might work if you use brake cleaner as on a n/a engine.

You'll Need an OBD Device.
Any cheap OBD2 adaptor from eBay or Amazon will do.
Most Freeware can clear fault codes.
