 | | high pitched squeek from rear | |
 Hey everyone!
Had the car valeted at the LR garage as wasn't done well when picked it up. Good service and excellent valet, but on the way home, noticed a high pitched squeek from the rear. Seemed worse over uneven road. Stopped at service station, opened and closed all doors etc. Drove off and nothing. Not noticed for a few days and then this morning on M-way to work, it started again. Think it is coming from the LHS rear. It seems to go away when I press the brake.
Could this be a bearing? Would you expect a bearing noise to go away completely when you brake?

To check a bearing, do I jack up the car and check for wheel play?

I'm going to take the wheels off tonight and check for crap stuck in it.

Anything else you cn think of for me to check? Confused as to wy it started after the valet

Also, since I got it, the handbrake has occasionally been jammed (discs stuck) in the morning and drives away with a clunk

Thanks for any help you can give

 cheers

 | Nothing to do with the wheel bearings, they would make a low frequency rumble. Sounds to me like the brake pads need removing, cleaning and copper slipped as they are not retracting. |

 | thanks for the replys guys!
Is replacing pads an easy job? And are the parts expensive?
In fact, is it a warranty claim? (i'm in the extra year warranty) Car is 3 1/2 yrs old so doubt it

 Thanks again
