Nothing to do with the wheel bearings, they would make a low frequency rumble. Sounds to me like the brake pads need removing, cleaning and copper slipped as they are not retracting. |

Common fault (not just on LR's) is the brake pad lining separating from the back plate of the pad. Causes a lot of intermittent squealing. Check your brake pads. Cure - replace brake pads. It did my head in for a wee while when I had it and it was very intermittent. |

this is whats been happening to mine - it turns out it seems to be quite a common fault for the rear parking (hand) brake to bind on and cause a squeek/ rumble/ hot wheel... it's not the disc brake pads but the shoes that act on the inside of the disc hub thats machined as a drum. mine needed a new rear disc both sides and a set of shoes on each side. then factor in changing the disc pads as well whislt you're there and it adds up.
