Downsizing

I have an '08 LR2 HSE with the 19 in. wheels. For winter I'm looking to put a smaller wheel/tire combination on for better tire availability. I know the 18 in. wheels will fit; does anyone know if a 17 in. will fit? I will get aftermarket wheels if they will. Question Doug

You can go for 16 - 17 or 18" wheels.

I am sure there will be some aftermarket wheels available.

The sizes of tyres you need are:

16": 215/75 R16 103T
17": 235/65 R17 104V (rim size: 7.5Jx17)
18": 235/60 R18 103V (rim size: 8.0Jx18)
19": 235/55 R19 101V (rim size: 8.5Jx19)

dont think the 16" wheels fit the gas lr2 only the diesel one. different brakes apparently???? At work

Check ebay for genuine FL2 wheels and tyres. 17" 235/65x17 as standard on GS and SE will fit perfectly.
Last year I bought 4 Genuine 17" SE wheels fitted with Continental Tyres only done 2-3000 miles for £320.
The seller had upgraded to 19" and wated garage space. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

CG is right the 16in wheels do not fit on the i6 as I have found out as the brakes are larger and there are also other improvements to the drive train also to handle the extra 80ish HP.

CG, your knowledge/expertise of the Freelander including rim sizes was (and is) never in question and is far superior to mine - but on the subject of wheel rim 'style'......now that's another story Confused
