The time showing on the SAT NAV

While I'm on.... has anyone noticed that if you press the enging start/stop button to turn on the power but not start the engine, the time showing on the SAT NAV doesn't update, ie the correct time showing on the radio is different to the one on the SAT NAV?

Or is it just mine?

Maybe I should read the manual before posting this....

Satnav picks up the time from the radio which we have to set manually, sounds like you have a problem. When the clocks moved I changed the time on the radio and it changed on the sat nav immediately. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

I have noticed it on both my FL2's

Sat in the car last night and the clock on the radio was correct and the SATNAV clock stayed at the time I inserted the keys and pressed the ignition without starting it.

As soon as i started it corrected itself Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

thanks udash and npinks....

at least i know i'm not the only one who has noticed this. it's not a major issue but i was nearly late back into the office the other lunchtime as i was watching the SATNAV time, it was only after the second time of looking that i realised it wasn't updating. I did make it back on time.

to be honest, i'm quite disappointed the time didn't update automatically when we moved to BST, even my basic Vectra and Corsa did that!!

You just wonder why the SatNav unit doesn't get the time from the GPS satellites. It could then update the radio and dash clocks too.

Getting the time from the satellites has one failing though, they do not change the time on the satellites to allow for BST & GMT, good idea though, my Road Angel and a TomTom I have both have the time coming from the satellites yet you still have to set the time manually because if the BST & GMT I suppose. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Sat in my car today, clocks were about 10 mins out of sync when I made a call and the clock corrected itself

can only presume it's due to the satnav having to sync to use the end call button that's displayed on the satnav screen

I was sat alone with no sign of a dreamy charlie angel Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

update

drove my car this lunchtime, parked up. turned ignition off, removed keyfob. reinserted keyfob, pressed start (without starting engine)

flipping thing is now updating correctly!!!

have just tried it again, having exited the vehicle before doing the same procedure as above.... and it's still updating correctly!!!!!!

having read this forum, i think Land Rover are sending updates to my FL2 through the mysterious world of radiowaves Smile
