Don't know if they would do the trick but in this last weeks Auto Express (Issue 1104) there is an article on page 67 regarding wheel protectors called "Alloy Gators" Basically a strip that fits to the edge of the rim. Cost is £39.95 for a set of four that fit up to 21" rims.
Company contact details - www.alloygator.co.uk or 08450 707078.

Be interested if anyone has bought /fitted these. I like NP have Shadow Chromes and always trying to avoid kerb scrapes so these strips might prove a worthy investment ?

Npinks it depends on where the damage took place as I claimed the money back when I had this problem. If the kerb is owned by a private Company such as a car park agency, mine was, then you can claim for the damage if you have sufficient evidence such as pictures of the wheel and kerb to show scrape mark. Get some quick if you have not, then you can claim stating that due care and attention was not provided to you ' the customer' as you were paying I hope to use the facility provided which was not up to standard therefore the damage to your car.

Bell shaped kerbs should be fitted in certain areas of car parks to stop this type of damage so hopefully this is your position, I got a free season ticket for parking and a shopping centre credit card with the value of my wheel repair on it to spend on anything I wished.

Did not pay directly for the wheel but covered the costs and more so I considered that a top result.

Contact the kerb owner and see what you can do that is my opinion Thumbs Up

The kerb is outside my house on the opposite side of the road

I presumed it was council owned until a company working on the house opposite altered the kerb to go straight down the road. It used to be a pulling in space for the house when it used to be a shop years ago Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It may well be worth a try if you know the name of the Company but I think in this case you may have to take it on the chin Crying or Very sad

Well worth the extra money, that is what I had done on my HSE alloy wheel and you cannot see the difference Very Happy and it wont fall off or paint rub off in a few months like the smart repairs do in the end.

The standard HSE repaint at Myalloys in Basingstoke was £65.00 so worth a look on the net.

put a coat of lacquer on from a touch up pen I have whilst I decide on what to do

think leave alone, or get a set of them plastic guards posted above, as it might cover the scratch up and the protect them
