Kerbed it today

Kerbed one of my alloys this afternoon, it was perfect until then Big Cry

Is there a legal height of a kerb Evil or Very Mad

shadow chromes are hard to smart repair so going to have to ponder on leaving as is or buying a spare, but then it could get done again so just get them done for selling Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Bad times Pinks, I nicked one of ours last summer, but it wasn't shadow crome so had it repaired and looks as good as new. How bad? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Yes very difficult times nick. I can only recommend letting the wife drive it for a day then blame it on her. It wont cure ur alloy but it will help ur fustration. Thumbs Up

Ouch! I’m so used to not bothering about kerbs with my GS alloys that I think its only a matter of time before I damage the triple sports. Thanks to MLEE I have four spares. I hope you find a solution Npinks. A Land Rover owner since 1988

I would let the wife drive it and blame her but she doesn't drive this one due to it been an auto

I have to give it a clean and assess the damage

if I don't repair should I lacquer the damaged areas Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Rolling with laughter CG

My answer to laquering the damaged parts would be yes, I've seen many alloys start with a nick, and then corrosion does a good job frighteningly quickly of ruining a large area of your wheel. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I feel for you - the first chips and scratches are the hardest to swallow.
....although, if you guys had proper size wheels instead of these 'pimp my ride in da hood' low profiles, maybe you'd be scrape-free Wink

With the size of this kerb I'm lucky not to have sctrached the wheel face too

looking today the kerb is high due to a grate and it also has a sprayed on arrow pointing at the grate, is this a indication that the kerb is too high or something (most likely a arrow saying needs Censored Cleaning out) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Fair comment, but no excuse for not watching where you're going!

Oh, the DFS advert is on. For those interested, do a you tube search on 'remember me' by the noisettes. Some legs that singer! Wouldn't mind if she did the buyyourcar advert.

Was going to say, if all else fails, something I find pretty good is a met. silver touch up paint from Halfords. Dab in on small chips, can build it up rub down with T Cut and laquer it. you won't notice the difference.

Oh, Jonny Cash song, Ring of Fine is on. always think curry or Boy George for that song!
