Terrain Response problem

I'm sure I saw something about this before but can't locate it. Last couple of days car has self selected the Grass, Gravel, Snow programme. Not a problem when driving in the snow but not ideal on normal roads. Selecting normal mode only lasts until swtiching off. Restarting it's back in snow mode.

Anyone any ideas or is it back to the stealers - still under warranty thank goodness

many peoples cars do the same random selecting of GGS, AndyC's good lady says if you wind it an extra click or two past normal (anti clockwise) it prevents this, I tried that, didnt work Laughing but sensible suggestion Confused At work

mine did this last week........... i had turned it for the snow and noticed it was back on snow when re started even over night.

I tried turning it more clicks and watching the info screen to see the icon actually change back to normal then it stayed in normal when swiched off and restarted.

hope this helps

Have had a lot of reason to use the TR dial recently and also to try the extra notch trick and can now confirm it don’t work for me Whistle Therefore unfortunately one has to conclude this must be a female thing or plain duff gen from the misses Rolling Eyes

However while turning the dial a few times, it seems that mine does the opposite to what it says in the book. That is to say it does NOT retain the chosen snow mode when being parked for a short time. Earlier when using snow mode and turning to normal before stopping (occasionally plus the extra notch trick), the snow mode was back on when restarted.

Concluding - as CG states our TR mode selector functions randomly as many others do. Maybe there is a software update for this Question 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Interesting feedback guys.

Goes off with dial but randomly comes back at engine start - I tried all the usual tricks with the switch - no difference. Also could see what it was doing just by switching the ignition on both the selector lights and the message screen would show snow setting. Selecting normal then turning off then on and back to snow - has to be software related

Dealer pretty unhelpful - wants car for whole day. Has been ok last 2 starts so I wait for tomorrow to see. The overnight wait is no guarantee it wont reselect for snow.

I'll give it a week then of to Taggart's to complain
