United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Orkney Grey

My GG AT3s did 48000 miles and are now at 3 and 4 mm.
Bought a set of 18" DS alloys which came with part worn Pirelli Scorpions. Used them as summer wheels for a couple of years then fitted a set of Continental Cross Contact ATR last autumn. They've done 10000 miles now and looking good. Not sure they'll last as long ad the GGs though. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Just for the record

I had a set of 4 Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season (Volvo spec) fitted 5 years ago.

28/9/20 @ 50293 miles

I diagonally swapped them

6/6/23 @ 69159 miles

2 have been damaged prematurely (Pot Hole Pinched/Sidewall) and replaced in last 2 years.

Remaining 2 now down to about 2+cm and due change tomorrow for Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season (LR spec)

6/10/25 @ 85572

They were £150 each at a local independent tyre garage

I am pleased with the 35k mile life, and I like the tyre because it has lots of snipes in the tread to disperse rain and stick to snow.
(Must admit that, here in Somerset, standing water is more likely than snow) FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 85k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 12th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Original OEM Continentals lasted 35K miles.

Nokian Weatherproof were terrible (cracked) and only lasted 28K (I thought they were made in Finland , turned out to be Russia).

Currently have Michelin Cross Climate 2 - great tyres - lasting well. Jules

The Continentals lasted just shy of 40000 miles in the end.

Now on Michelin Latitude Cross

Quick Update

On getting back home and checking more carefully I can see that they fitted Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season (the OEM tyre).
I don't think that I will notice much difference, although the SF2 version of the Zeros do say that wet surface performance is improved.

As this occurred even after I carefully typed out the exact name and spec for the garage and watched the tyre man search for the tyre on his database, I find it a bit disappointing that I wasted my time checking the reviews of several different tyres.

Most likely another case of the computer knew best, and not the customer.

Otherwise a quick, friendly, and pleasant experience. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
