The shock is a slip fit into the hub carrier. It sounds like it has seized in, but it's easy enough to spread the carrier clamp enough to free the bond. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

@ nicke20 Page 231 of the free JLR manual explains the rear suspension. The spring is on a strut which incorpoartes the shock absorber. The strut neeeds to be removed from the hub carrier/knuckle. The strut slides into the back of the knuckle and a bolt clamps the knuckle around the end of the strut. I can be difficult to separate - the knuckle clamp needs to be spread apart which releases the strut. There are several ways to do it . ![]() ![]() strut is BLUE, Knuckle is GREY/BROWN Jules |
