All four of my vent tabs are absent. Having looked on Ebay, I see that I can get a set of 4 for a Toyota for around £5, which just clip on. The LR2-specific ones require the removal of the whole vent and are much more expensive. Has anyone found a cheaper more convenient type of vent tab which fits the LR2? The original type are clearly not much good!

Further to that, I've made some temporary vent tabs. They aren't pretty, but they work!

£40 for all 4 vents from my local breakers and an hour to fit including time to allow the charge to disperse from the side airbags by disconnecting the battery!

Thanks for that. I've improved the finish of my 'temporary' tabs, which fitted without disassembly, and they are now permanent!

Broken vents seem to come up a bit. I wonder why they get broken.

They don't appear that fragile. I have had them out for installing acoustic insulation, but I didn't pull them by the blades. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I Have these eBay sourced tabs fitted to the centre console vents. They do the job, however be aware that:-
1) They are chrome effect rather than the OEM satin aluminium effect. It is noticeable on the central vent. Personally, I am not that bothered...
2) They are fragile. Mine have been fitted for about 11 months, in that time one of the tabs came off - in fairness that was likely down to some assertive vent adjustment during one of the recent heat waves...
3) They can be fitted with the vent in situ - though it is a pain. Position the clip at the back in place with a pair of long, thin nose pliers. Then I used a piece of 2 mm rod bent at 90degrees to support the clip at the back, while pressing the chrome tab into place.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - but next time I think I would get a complete vent from a breaker rather than bother with these...
