Hi everyone, Thought I’d do an update on my experiences since November’24 on this subject : Car been running great during winter…..no problems….a couple of boost-starts due to lack of use, that’s all. Mid April & temperatures increased past 20deg….the occasional “stuttering/hestitation” reappeared….usually on exiting à round-about, reapplying throttle. No big deal to me but the wife tends to panic…..I did scans with my trusty AP 200 from time to time…nothing especially worrying….the usual B100A-15 that can’t be removed & ‘lost communication with seat’ etc. As I have posted on another subject à month ago we came back to the car & couldn’t open it….had to use key on LH door to gain entry. Battery completely dead…..Exide that was replaced Jan ‘24….managed to start no problem with booster. Fitted a new Varta F19 85Ah/800CCA….left it unused for a week to test for system drain…started perfectly with 12.7v before starting. A bit annoyed with Exide battery but supplier agreed to take back under warranty…… Good news is : Since fitting new battery no hesitation / stuttering…..despite temperatures high 30’s for last 10 days…..!!! I can’t explain it……..haven’t said anything to the wife………hope this update doesn’t put the ‘Voodoo’ on it. FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current D2 TD5 HSE Man MY 1999 470kmls….gone 2014 ….lovely engine..chassis rotten D1 300TDI Man MY 1996 56kmls….gone 1999…D2 much better Wife’s FL1 1.8P MY 2001 32kmls …gone 2007…has Mini since. |

My symptoms started with power loss after motorway runs at set of traffic lights, then similar on longish runs at constant speed and then when I got to tried to regain speed after roundabouts. (No Error Codes) Initially pausing to go into shops or similar (ignition off for say 30 mins) cleared fault temporarily, then finally it got more regular and gave a turbo vane error code. My car is under LR Warranty so Error Code was confirmed by the AA and my car taken to Dealer. Although my FL2 was booked in for a new Turbo, the Warranty Company insisted that the Garage 'Exercised' the Turbo Vanes during a Full Diagnostic Program. This cleared the fault, no Turbo was changed, and my car has been fine since. (touch wood) https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic39340.ht...urbo+vanes And a list of similar problems https://www.freel2.com/forum/search.php?se...rch_time=0 PS The Turbo Vanes can be exercised manually, but you must discoonect link to actuator. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 84k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |
