In answer to the questions about why would I replace the xtrons unit, the answer is simply that I’ve always had a few issues with mine - specifically the auto dimming with lights. It’s never worked properly and the brightness goes up and down at random when the lights are on (not noticeable is in the summer months where you don’t have the lights on as much but ‘winter is coming’ and the though of dealing with that doesn’t fill me with joy). The version I have is pretty early too and didn’t have CarPlay built in. I subsequently added this with the additional xtrons CarPlay dongle but this too I think is a little flakey.

Enjoy it. I think there are plenty of people who are happy with their units. I don’t think I can bring myself to purchase the same thing again. If I’d had a better experience of the hardware or support that may be different.
