Never had a problem passing MOT in past with egr blanked. |

just connect sensor, it but not fully,egr blanking probably is an mot fail,but you cant tell thats been defiantly done although there is a metal gasket that can be seen ,but that is not proof its been blocked. |

Exactly as some blanking plates have a hole in then anyway.A m going to change maf sensor anyway as noted in another post of mine.

I'd be making sure that all the boost hoses are free from splits or leaks. Any loss of air will result in black smoke. The MAF is working, if it stops smoking with it disconnected, as the ECM reverts to a difference fuel map when there's no input from the MAF. The ECM also disables the EGR cycle if there's no MAF signal.

I have checked pipes nothing split as far as I can see.only thing as mentioned before hose below egr a bit squashy but the hose is hot equals squishy? |

Have you checked the little link hose below the throttle body? That's the most likely to split, and is also very difficult to see any damage.

Thé green pipe is the plastic piece but connected to top of that is the rubber hose that does split as Nodge said….

Yes it is the rubber bit that is squishy. I will order one anyway to be on the safe side. Would you happen to know the part number? |
